International A26 is a 12.4-litre International engine introduced in 2017 for selected heavy-duty trucks. It is distinct from the newer S13 package.
Production and emissions eras
Separate launch-era and later updated A26 ratings using the engine serial, emissions label and model-year literature.
Published ratings and claims
International documented rating changes across product updates; the applicable source must match the engine year. Published ranges and performance statements are manufacturer data, not SemiTrucks.ca test findings; the installed calibration must be verified.
Applications and truck relationships
A26 appears in selected LT and RH builds. Current S13 availability does not retroactively identify an older truck.
Identify the engine in one truck
Capture serial, emissions label, ECM rating, line-set and repair/campaign history.
Transmission and vehicle integration
Verify the installed transmission, calibration, clutch/control integration and any later swap.
Canadian climate and duty-cycle questions
Assess idle, regional versus linehaul operation, winter aftertreatment history and service access without relying on generalized reputation.
Rebuild, remanufacture and swap limits
A replacement long block, remanufactured engine, ECM change or later swap can separate the current engine from the truck's original build. Reconcile the engine serial, ECM identity, invoices, certification labels and physical installation; do not infer factory fitment from appearance.

A26 production context
International introduced the A26 in 2017 and later published updates. Use the engine identity and year-specific material to confirm the applicable rating and configuration; do not merge A26 claims with the later S13 Integrated Powertrain.
LT and RH installation questions
For an A26-equipped LT or RH, record the transmission, rear ratio, cooling package and software history. Compare fault and aftertreatment records with the represented highway or regional duty and test whether the installation behaves correctly under an appropriate road test.
Verify the individual truck
Build information, component tags, service records, diagnostics and a qualified inspection take priority over general family-level guidance.
