Volvo I-Shift is an automated manual transmission family. Standard, Severe Duty and crawler-gear configurations are materially distinct.
Versions and era boundaries
Identify generation, software and exact model; do not treat every I-Shift as having crawler gears or severe-duty approval.
Published ratings and architecture
Ratios, torque/GCW, PTO and crawler capability apply only to exact official models. Use the data sheet for the exact model; a family maximum does not establish the limit of the installed unit or truck.
Engine and truck relationships
I-Shift is factory integrated in qualified Volvo VNL/VNR builds with D11/D13 by year and application.
Tag, model-code and software verification
Record tag/model, software level, clutch/actuator history, shift program and factory build.
Integration and later-swap cautions
A later transmission or engine change can require programming and driveline review; visual similarity is not proof of compatibility.

Low-speed and grade behaviour
Test engagement, clutch control, creep or manoeuvring behaviour where applicable, grade response and warning history. Review software and actuator work with the truck's prior route, loading and driver reports.
