Selecting equipment records your research choice. It does not calculate dimensions, establish an available combination or rate a truck.

Read the configuration behind the badge

The selectable dimensional sheets cover the 2019 factory brochure. Original-era and later T680 equipment must be researched separately; the same model badge does not establish a hood, electronics package or powertrain.

Reference boundaries and what to verify
QuestionDocumented referenceBuyer interpretation
Hood reference2019: 119 in MX hood or 125 in hood3,023 or 3,175 mm BBC. Neither number is bumper-to-rear-frame length.
Sleeper reference40, 52 and 76 in options in the brochureRoof form matters. Measure the highest fitted fairing or accessory; do not add the sleeper label to BBC.
Powertrain fitMX-11, MX-13 and X15 are catalogue familiesA transmission torque limit and an engine maximum cannot be combined into a valid order without supporting build evidence.

Evidence to take to the inspection

For a used T680, ask for the VIN-linked order, engine serial and emissions label, full transmission model, rear ratio and tyre specification together. Then match the displayed edition. Photograph the hood, dash and sleeper, but use those photographs to check identity rather than establish a model year. For winter highway work, inspect the fitted bunk heater, battery capacity and idle-management system; a brochure option does not prove that the candidate has it.

04 / MODELS, YEARS & CHANGES

One badge.
Different reference points.

Publication dates and launch milestones do not establish continuous model-year ranges. Match the VIN, production date and equipment era.

Inspection and build evidence

For Canadian work, assess cold-start evidence, bunk heat/APU condition, corrosion around fairing and cab mounts, aftertreatment history, mountain gearing and service access on the intended routes.

  • VIN-linked OEM build record or line-set information
  • engine data plate and serial/CPL details
  • transmission tag and calibration history
  • axle tags, rear ratio and certification labels
  • ECM report, service invoices and physical inspection

05 / PUTTING IT TO WORK

Match the trailer to the whole truck.

Long-haul, regional and fleet specifications differ in sleeper, fuel, wheelbase, axle ratio, safety systems and idle-management equipment.

Pulling a trailer

Confirm build-specific combination, axle, tyre and coupling ratings, kingpin and service connections, clearance and actual axle weights. GVW is the loaded truck; GCW is the loaded combination. Neither is trailer payload.

Moving the tractor as cargo

Give the carrier measured length, exterior and mirror widths, height, ground clearance and transport weight. Assess deck access, breakover, loaded height and securement together.

Deck height & loaded height ↗
There is no single “T680 towing capacity”.

The model badge, artwork and catalogue option selectors cannot rate an individual combination. Obtain the actual build limits and scale weights.
