Locate the right archived specification
Hino’s historical SCR material identifies the 268 alongside the 258, 338 and 358. The 2020 body-builder manual then separates dimensions by factory chassis code, engine, suspension and transmission. Obtain that full code before choosing a dimension column. A marketplace title cannot safely resolve those choices.
Inspect a distribution body as part of the purchase
On a truck offered with a box or reefer body, inspect the cargo floor, rear door hardware, sill and mounts. Check refrigeration hours and maintenance separately where fitted. Review liftgate operation and wiring; a sound cab-and-chassis can still need costly body equipment work before returning to a delivery route.
Compare with the 258 on equal terms
Choose the same year and body purpose, then compare frame height, wheelbase, brake equipment and loaded axle weights. A lower purchase price may reflect body condition or configuration rather than a better chassis deal. Ask for separate repair estimates and a VIN-based campaign check before deciding.
