Plan around the loaded rear axle
Dense freight, a heavy liftgate or a concentrated service-body load can consume rear-axle capacity before the truck reaches its gross rating. Compare the body’s centre of gravity, rear overhang and actual axle scale weights. A larger GVWR should not be treated as permission to place every additional pound behind the axle.
Hydraulic and air-brake builds deserve separate comparisons
The L7 brochure lists hydraulic brakes as standard and an air-brake option. Ask which system is installed, which suspension accompanies it and what inspection records cover that system. Match like-for-like builds when evaluating maintenance access, driver assignment and purchase cost.
Inspect the equipment that earns the revenue
For a box truck, check the roof, floor, rear sill and water ingress. For a service or tank body, review mounts, plumbing or hydraulic equipment and the installation records. Road-test with a qualified inspector and discuss the intended load; an empty road test cannot establish performance under your working conditions.
